Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) is a vital additive for Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), used primarily as an impact modifier and processing aid to enhance flexibility, impact strength (especially at low temperatures), and weather resistance, making rigid PVC suitable for durable products like window profiles, pipes, siding, and wire/cable jacketing, improving durability and performance without needing plasticizers in some applications

Function:

Impact Modification: CPE creates a kind of inner web inside rigid PVC, which makes it a whole lot tougher and way harder to crack. This is really useful when it’s cold out, cause PVC gets super brittle once the temperature drops.

Processing Aid: It also helps PVC flow smoother when it’s melted and shaped during extrusion or molding. That makes the whole process easier to run, and you can mix in more filler material with no trouble at all.

Flexibility: CPE’s got a natural rubbery texture, so it adds real flexibility to the mix. Like with shower liners—CPE gives them that soft, bendable feel without having to add plasticizers. Those plasticizers seep out slowly over time, and that’s what ends up making the PVC go stiff.

Weatherability, Chemical & Flame Resistance: On top of all that, CPE makes PVC hold up really well against the weather—it helps outdoor products resist aging and keep from yellowing. It even improves PVC’s electrical insulation, CPE is often used in materials like wires and cables—things that need good electrical performance.

CPE135A
Good flexibility, excellent low-temperature toughness, high strength, high fillability, and good impact resistance.
Suitable for rigid PVC products such as door and window profiles, plastic pipes and fittings, and sheets.
CPE135B
High toughness, high elasticity, high elongation, excellent low-temperature toughness, good oil resistance and flame retardancy.
Used in flame-retardant wire and cable sheaths, flame-retardant conveyor belts, mining cables, waterproof membranes and other fields.
CPE130A
Good flexibility, excellent low-temperature performance, good fillability, as well as excellent aging resistance, chemical resistance, and processability.
Can be used to produce refrigerator magnetic strips, cold-resistant cable sheaths, and also used as special rubber for manufacturing rubber products.
CPE140A
High mechanical strength, good toughness, excellent aging resistance and flowability, and good compatibility with PVC.
Used in PVC calendered films, PVC waterproof membranes, as well as high-efficiency plasticizers and flame retardants for PVC.

Applications:

  1. Rigid PVC: Window profiles, pipes, fences, siding, and WPC (wood-plastic composites).
  2. Flexible PVC: Foils, wire and cable jacketing, and films (e.g., for waterproofing)
