Description :

Oxidized polyethylene wax (OPE) is an indispensable internal and external lubricant and dispersant in PVC processing. Due to the presence of polar groups in its molecular chain, it has good affinity with PVC. In PVC, it effectively improves plasticization, enhances mold release, increases gloss, improves transparency, and promotes filler dispersion. It is mainly used in pipes, profiles, SPC flooring, foamed boards, and transparent products, effectively replacing traditional lubricants.

The Core function and Applications of Oxidized Polyethylene Wax (OPE) in PVC:

Efficient Lubrication and Mold Release: As an ideal post-processing lubricant, oxidized polyethylene wax reduces friction at the metal contact surface during processing, significantly improving mold release performance and reducing mold cleaning time. It is suitable for pipes, profiles, and complex injection molded parts.
Improved Plasticization and Stability: High acid value oxidized polyethylene wax (such as 930 with an acid value of 30) has strong internal lubrication properties, accelerating PVC plasticization, and is particularly suitable for high-filler PVC products, such as SPC flooring and stone-plastic wall panels.
Excellent Transparency and Dispersion: Compared with non-polar polyethylene wax, oxidized polyethylene wax has better compatibility. In transparent PVC shrink film and decorative film, it can significantly improve gloss without affecting transparency.
Improved Print Adhesion: Polar groups help improve the adhesion of printing inks and adhesives on the surface of PVC products (such as advertising banners).
Filler Dispersion: In high-calcium formulations, it effectively improves component dispersion and reduces precipitation.

Recommendations:

For high plasticization requirements (e.g., foam boards, SPC flooring): Choose oxidized polyethylene wax with a high acid value and low molecular weight (e.g., acid value 25-30).
For high mold release/high transparency requirements (e.g., shrink film, calendered sheets): Choose oxidized polyethylene wax with a low acid value and high molecular weight (e.g., acid value around 16).
The general addition amount is 0.3-0.5%.
